There’s something unforgettable about neon at night. The way it glows against a deep blue sky, humming quietly above the streets, a memory from another era.
My newest fine art photograph, Little Audrey, captures one of Australia’s most recognisable roadside neon signs in a moment of luminous stillness — vibrant, nostalgic, and unmistakably cinematic.
For decades, the iconic “Little Audrey” neon sign has stood as a beacon above Melbourne’s inner north — playful and nostalgic. In this photograph, the glowing red figure appears suspended against an endless twilight sky. It transforms a familiar piece of urban history into something almost dreamlike.
The composition strips away distraction and focuses entirely on colour, light, and atmosphere. The rich cobalt backdrop allows the neon reds and electric whites to pulse with energy, creating a striking statement piece that feels both contemporary and timeless.
Like other works in my Landmark series, Little Audrey is about more than architecture or signage — it’s about memory. These surviving neon landmarks connect us to the character of a city before digital screens and modern uniformity. They remind us of late-night drives, glowing shopfronts, and the enduring beauty of places that refuse to disappear.
Printed on museum-quality archival paper using archival inks, this artwork is designed to retain its depth, colour, and detail for generations. Whether displayed in a living room, studio, office, or gallery wall, Little Audrey brings warmth and nostalgia into a space.
If you’re drawn to photographs that celebrate history, atmosphere, and the romance of the urban night, this newest release may be the perfect addition to your collection.
